We had to say goodbye far too soon to our beautiful, courageous Arthur Fonzarelli after he lost his battle with cancer.

He underwent a large operation in November 2019 to remove a large tumour and infected lymph nodes following an anal gland adenocarcinoma diagnosis at stage 3a but sadly it had already become very aggressive and grew back almost immediately. We opted for palliative care at that point and set about giving him the best life a dog could in the time he had left. The operation gave him quality time back, as it had been growing so fast he would he left us shortly after diagnosis had we not gone ahead with it.

He was such a huge character, he has left a massive, noisy hole in our lives. We miss him barking at us every morning and whinging for attention. He would have given everything to protect those he loved and was such a loyal boy who tried to hide his discomfort up until the end. Firmly a Daddy's boy, he was known to everyone as the 'Fun Police' as he'd break up anyone else having fun and felt he was the only one allowed to enjoy himself on a group walk. For such a big boy (60kg) he was very sensitive too and would cry if you stroked his ears but loved a cuddle and was full of fun.

We feel robbed as he left us a few days before his 8th Birthday, but what fabulous years he gave us. Until we meet again special boy, give Elvis a kiss from us.

Fonzie is full of character, much more typical of the breed than his Dad he is aloof with strangers, very protective and a true hound who loves to chase anything and everything! He is very noisy and likes to bark at everything given the chance, when he's not playing or being noisy he loves a cuddle on the sofa or chilling on his (or our) bed.
