Setting the Standard

2018 Show Results

The Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback's Association's Championship show in May 2018 was our first show with 130 RR's entered. Elvis stood alone to win first place in the Special Veteran class (for dogs 10 years and over), he was then awarded his 16th CC, Best Veteran in Breed and Reserve Best in Show! Nevis aka Saadani Show off was placed 2nd in his Graduate dog class- what a day to remember, a huge THANK YOU to our judge, All Rounder Mr Mark Cocozza for thinking so highly of Elvis who was 3 months short of 11 years at the show!

Elvis was placed 2nd in the Special Veteran D/B class at the Midlands and Northern RR Club Champ show under All Rounder Espen Engh in July 2018.

Villagedogs Rise of Phoenix made his debut at the Puppy Walk at the same show and was placed 1st in a lovely large class of gorgeous puppies!

He was handled by his Breeder, Dorothy McGoldrick who is also a co-owner of Phoenix. He was just 1 week shy of 6 months old and took the whole experience in his usual way - cool as a cumber!

August 2018 Paignton Champ show saw Phoenix make his debut in the Puppy Class under Frank Whyte (Kazval) - he later won Best Puppy in Breed in some lovely competition.

"Another dog that is a credit to the breed. Nearly 11 and probably the best front mover of the day. Good head. Holds his topline perfectly. His rear is starting to give a little but just through age ( many younger class winners are weak in the rear and will sadly never be right ) and is still sound and shows typical breed movement. Exc balance and proportions.. CC"

Mark Cocozza

"Another dog that is very well kept and in remarkable condition for his age. Beautiful head and expression. Strong neck. Longer in body than necessary. Well angulated both ends and can still show some of the youngsters how to move, energetic and efficient. Long and symmetrical ridge. In beautiful coat and general condition. Another that I have particularly liked in the past, it was good to see him look so well at such a great age."
