2013 Results & News Round Up

What a fantastic year for Elvis 2013 turned out to be. 2013 saw Elvis turn 6 years old but was also his most successful year in the ring so far. From attending only a few shows Elvis was awarded four Challenge Certificates this year, taking his tally to 12. 3 of the 4 CC's were accompanied by Best of Breed and we were shortlisted in the Hound Group twice under Graham Hill and Andrew Brace - the third group we entered this year Elvis was awarded Group 4 by International judge Paulo Dondina (who judged BIS at Crufts a couple of years back).

Elvis continued to do well at Open show level too, being awarded RBIS at the RRCS Open show as well as Reserve Best in Show at LKA of Scotland open show (all breeds). He also won HGP 1 at Greenock Open show.

For the fourth time Elvis has qualified to take part in the Scottish Kennel Club's Show Dog of the Year Competition (all breeds). This will be the third time Elvis has competed in the event and we are very much looking forward to it.

2013 saw Elvis finish the year as Top Scottish Ridgeback, and words cannot express how proud of him we are. He is not just a show dog, but a fabulous ambassador for the breed who is great with children, adults and other dogs and who is an absolute pleasure to live with. He is one in a million.

"1st Aitken & Reid’s Ch Sonstraal Chocolate Storm ShCM. What a show this boy put on today. Glorious coat and muscle tone, at the peak of his maturity. Moderate all through, no exaggeration anywhere. Well boned and in perfect proportion. Good head proportions, dark round eye and correct ear set. Lovely length of neck, good shoulder and upper arm. Good length and depth to ribcage, Strong topline held on the move. Correct width to first and second thigh. Moved effortlessly. A powerhouse with his rear engine giving the propulsion that took him around the ring. An absolute joy to watch, and made more special seeing him gain Hound Group 4 under well respected judge Paulo Dondina. CC, BOB, and HG4, Congratulations." Liz Storey
