2010 Show Results

January 17th 2010 - Falkirk & District Canine Society Open Show,

Ingliston. Placed 2nd in Open RR class. Thank you to our judge Mr J.Robertson (Azrams).

February 6th 2010 Caledonian Canine Society Open show,

Ingliston. Placed 2nd in the open class. Thanks to our judge Mrs Linda McCall.

April 10th 2010 - Hound Association of Scotland, Kelso. Placed VHC in a large Open Dog class under judge Mrs G. Mitchelson. Then Elvis went on to win 1st in the Open stakes class under our judge, Mr Tom Johnston.

April 25th 2010 - WELKS Championship Show, Malvern. Placed 3rd in Open Dog. Thank you to our judge, all rounder Mrs P. Mottershaw.

May 23rd 2010 - Scottish Kennel Club, Ingliston. Placed 1st in Open Dog, and then Elvis went on to take his 3rd Reserve Challenge Certificate. A massive thank you to our judge, breed specialist Ms Gillian Hutcheson. 

"1 Aitken & Reid's Sonstraal Chocolate Storm, handsome red wheaten, lovely clean face with intelligent expression, strong crested neck, correct lay of shoulder & excellent length of upper arm, well filled & deep chest with excellent ribbing and length of loin ensured strength of topline, correct rear angulation, well knuckled feet, scores so well on movement, gives the impressions he could go all day, faultlessy, pushed hard for CC, sure he will go all the way. June 20th 2010 - Border Union Championship show, Kelso. Placed 2nd in Open Dog. Thanks to our judge, breed specialist Ms Sue Campbell.

"2. Aitken & Reid's Sonstraal Chocolate Storm, red wheaten, quality dog from the same kennel as 1, lovely dog, still maturing & needs to develop in front, but this should come with time. In profile beautifully balanced, lovely clean head of correct proportions, kind expression, deep chest, strong topline & loin, powerful quarters which he used well on the move. Little unsettled on the move, but he was enjoying himself. Lovely bone & excellent feet." 

July 10th 2010 - East of England Championship show, Peterborough. Placed 3rd in open dog. Thank you to our judge, all rounder, Mrs Jean Blanford.

July 17th 2010 - Midlands & Northern Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Championship show, Stoneleigh. Placed 1st in a huge open dog class. Many thanks to our judge, Ms Dagmar Kenis-Pordham.

"1. Aitken & Reid's Sonstraal Chocolate Storm. Three year old red wheaten dog, rather tall but well balanced overall, very well conditioned and handled. Very nice head, excellent earset and expression. Good neck and forehand, proper bone for size, correct length of leg. Capacious body, very good firm topline. Hindquarters nicely angulated and strong. Moved out very well in a collected ground covering action." D. Kenis-Pordham.

September 10th 2010 Richmond championship show. Elvis was placed 1st in open dog, and goes on to be awarded the Dog Challenge Certificate, his second. He then won Best of Breed! A massive thank you to our judge, all rounder Mrs Denise Tyerman. And thanks to Gillian, Anthea and Sharon for taking Elvis for me while I was on holiday!

October 24th 2010 Kirkintilloch Open show, Wishaw. Elvis was placed 1st in the Open class, and went on to take Best of Breed! Many thanks to our judge, Mr William Armstrong (Cornstalk).

Aitken & Reid's Sonstraal Chocolate Storm, lovely quality dog of nice substance & of excellent type, lovely head & expression, powerful neck into good shoulders, good firm middle, just right for length, correct hind angles, plenty of depth of chest, a picture standing & moveing where he was free & easy, covering the ground well. BOB."

October 31st 2010 Midland Counties Championhip show, Stafford. Elvis was placed 2nd in a large Open dog class. Thanks to our judge from the USA, Judy Harrington.

"1.Sonstraal Chocolate Storm, male of substance & quality, lovely head & expression, nice lay of shoulder, capacious chest carried on stron legs & tight feet, excellent length & topline, good angulations, moved around the ring with power, nicely presented & handled. BOB. G1" Avril Young

November 21st 2010, Ladies Kennel Association of Scotland Open Show, Ingliston. Elvis was expertly handled by Mary Pratt to 1st place in the open class. they then went on to take Best of Breed! Elvis had to withdraw from the group as Anthea Fox from the Sonstraal Kennel was judging. Thank you to our breed specialist judge Helen Mansfield (Shingwidsi).

Handsome male with a lovely head and intelligent expression. Superb neck, leading to a lovely front with good lay of shoulder. Good infill and depth of chest. Super bone and strong topline coming from good ribbing and length of loin. Correct rear angulations with powerful quarters. A picture of balance with the most effortless ground covering movement. BOB."
